Service Agreement

Before we can get to the fun part (working with you in your home), we do need you to review some logistics.

Simply Sorted, LLC Service Agreement for Professional Organizing

This Service Agreement (the “Agreement”) is made effective between Simply Sorted, LLC (the “Company”) and the undersigned, (the “Client”) about the service(s) to be performed at the Client’s stated location (the “Service Location”).

Service Area Restriction and Travel Fee

The Company’s services are subject to additional travel fee to locations more than a 25 mile radius from The Company’s home base in Kalamazoo, MI, which will be communicated to the Client in advance

Billing Rates and Session Details

The Client agrees to the rates and services provided in the “Billing Rates and Session Details” section of this Agreement. The hourly rate for The Company’s services is $80 per hour. A minimum session duration of three (3) hours is required. The session services include decluttering, organizing, and space planning.  Product shopping and recommendations outside of the in-home session hours will be billed at an hourly rate of $80 per hour.

Reservation and Payment

To reserve a session date, the Client must pay a non-refundable deposit equal to 1 hour of service ($80), which will be applied to the final session cost. Payment for each session is due on the day of the session. Accepted methods of payment are cash, check, debit, or credit card. Payments are non-refundable.

Cancellation and Missed Visit

The Client must provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice for any cancellation or rescheduling of a session. If the Client fails to provide the required notice, a $50 cancellation charge must be paid prior to rescheduling the service. This policy also applies if the Client is not present at the agreed-upon time and date, and a $50 charge will be incurred to reschedule. If The Company needs to cancel any session less than 24 hours in advance, you will be contacted with as much advance notice as possible, and will have priority rescheduling.

Supplies and Materials

Standard labels are included with each service. Clients may use containers they already own in their space. Otherwise, Clients are responsible for paying for all agreed-upon supplies (file folders, storage containers, shelving, etc.) necessary for completion of the session. We will either make suggestions and send you direct product examples that you can purchase on your own, or we can make suggestions and purchase the agreed upon materials for you. The hourly rate ($80) applies to product shopping.

Job Site Access

The Client agrees to provide the Company with full access to the job site during scheduled sessions. The Client understands that the Company requires the ability to move freely throughout the space to perform the organizing services effectively.

Garbage Removal and Donation Items

The Client is responsible for all garbage removal. The Company will gather items believed to belong in the garbage, and will not throw anything out without the Client’s permission. We will help guide you in making decisions, but the final decision is always the Client’s. Thus, the Client agrees to make final decisions regarding what is discarded, and is responsible for any loss or damage resulting from the discarding or destroying of any records, or personal effects.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Given the sensitive nature of the work that we do and the high level of trust that the Client places in us, the Company acknowledges and respects the privacy of the Client. Any personal or confidential information disclosed during the organizing process will be kept strictly confidential.

Photographs and Video

Unless otherwise requested, the Company will take "before" and "after" photographs and video of each room or space organized. These photos may be used in publications, including but not limited to, digital marketing materials including the website, social media, and printed marketing materials. These photographs will not include any personally identifiable information. The Company fully agrees to not link the Client’s name or other personal confidential or identifying information to the photos or video in any way.

Home Environment

The Client agrees to provide the Company with full access to the job site during scheduled sessions. The Client understands that the Company requires the ability to move freely throughout the space to perform the organizing services effectively.

Refusal of Services

The Company has the right to decline providing or completing any service if they deem the environment hazardous or unsafe in any way. 


Our goal is to maintain a 100% satisfaction level. It is our responsibility to analyze a situation, teach you new skills, and help you make the changes you want. If we fail to meet any realistic expectations, we will schedule a complimentary session (length of time to be determined) to make any necessary adjustments. All Claims must be submitted in writing within seven business days of completion of the session. A claim describing in detail which parts of the session were not completed or satisfactory should be sent via email to: Simply Sorted, LLC at Failure to make a claim within seven business days after service is provided, implies that the Client fully accepts the completed work. At no time will a refund be given for work or portions of a package completed to the Client’s satisfaction.

Limitation of Liability

The Client agrees that the Company shall not be responsible for any damages (whether compensatory, direct, indirect, actual, special, punitive, incidental, consequential or otherwise), any losses (whether loss of or damage to property, loss of data, loss of use, loss of income or profit, or loss of any kind), personal injury, claims of third parties, or other claim or liability of any kind, including those resulting from discarding or destroying of any personalities or records (physical, digital, or otherwise). The Client is responsible for providing a list of valuables to the Company of particular concern.

Other Service Providers

If other service providers will be involved, the Company takes no responsibility – and the Client agrees to hold the Company harmless – for their actions or performance.

Duration of Agreement

This Agreement shall commence upon the date of execution, shall apply to all services provided by the Company at the Service Location as indicated below, and shall continue in effect until it is terminated as provided herein. This Agreement may be terminated by either party with written notice. The Client agrees to pay for all services rendered, cancellation fees, other outstanding fees, and any legal or collection fees incurred by the Company to collect on payments due.

Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan and is not transferable to any other party or service location. The Client agrees to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in Kalamazoo County, Michigan, U.S.A.
